Hello,
I drive a 1999 A4 V6 TDI model from 2000.
The dashboard and alarm system were original equipment installed by the manufacturer.
I'm having a rather strange and annoying problem:
When I turn off the car after a drive, get out, and lock it with the key fob, it sometimes happens that the doors are locked (central locking works), but the interior lights don't turn off, the hazard lights don't activate, and the alarm doesn't "arm"!
However, this doesn't always happen! I haven't yet determined a precise procedure or identified the specific conditions/circumstances under which this occurs.
It usually happens when I open one of the rear doors. It doesn't matter if it's the left or right door.
"I'm having this problem again. I have to unlock the car, put the key in the ignition, and turn it on briefly. Then, I turn the ignition off, take the key out, and lock the car. This works 99% of the time. But I've also had to start the engine briefly for it to work!"
In the error memory, I only found the entry "Alarm triggered by interior monitoring." Although the alarm never went off! I deleted it, and after a week, I checked again. The error was there again!
Does anyone know about this?
Thank you and best regards.
Sebastian.
