I have a rev limiter for a T2 gearbox.
(with an inductor) built.
Now I've heard that VW/Audi also use hall effect sensors.
They are available in 2- or 3-wire versions.

The voltage of the signal in an inductive sensor is speed-dependent. At low speeds, the voltage is also relatively low.
The tension in Hallgebers remains constant.
