Hello.
Ich habe mir das Selbstbau-Interface gekauft und versuche damit meinen Galaxy ein paar Geheimnisse zu entlocken. My problem:

To the best of my knowledge, the Galaxy and Sharan models (manufactured in 1997) from the V6 series with all-wheel drive are built using the same components.
However, when I select the automatic diagnosis for the Sharan, it only reaches point 1 (engine diagnosis) and stops at point 2 (…no interface connected, firmware update required,…).

"The error messages from the engine are a bit cryptic to me, and I also can't find these error codes on your websites."

07-10 Signal too low - intermittent.

Okay, it's a gasoline-powered car, but I still hope you can help me.

"My problem is that the car sometimes doesn't downshift properly when I press the accelerator fully, and my mechanic suspects a problem with the automatic transmission (he claims it might not shift correctly at certain temperatures). However, he has never experienced this issue himself, so I would like to log relevant data."

Thank you for your help in advance.

Erik.

Supply voltage at terminal 30 occasionally too low.

Idle speed control outside the (normal) operating range, e.g., due to a fault in the idle speed control unit, mass airflow sensor, or due to a vacuum leak.

Problem with the oxygen sensor...

Regarding the automatic fault diagnosis feature, or the search process: simply add the control unit that was queried *before* the error occurred to the end of the "Sharan" line in the Autoscan.txt file.
Apart from that, a license (activation) should be required for the automatic fault diagnosis feature anyway.

Best regards, Rainer.

Hello Rainer.

Thank you for the quick response.

"Regarding the voltage at terminal 30, I doubt there's much I can do about it, right?"

"During the LMM (likely referring to a specific process or system), I will now be recording the target and actual values at the company."

3) What else can I check on the lambda sensor?

4) Will I also be able to access the automatic transmission (the critical part of the car before it's compressed into a small package)?

5) Is it normal for a clicking or rattling sound to occur behind the dashboard during diagnosis?

Thank you again.
Erik.

P.S. Sorry for posting in the wrong forum; my question about the similarities between Ford and VW models turned out to be more complex than I initially thought.

Hi Erik,

Try accessing the automatic transmission control unit directly using address 02. This is usually much faster than running a complete scan.

1) Is it a loose connection or a weak battery?
Regarding point 2: Yes, but it's possible that the control unit isn't providing the target value, and you might need to obtain it from repair documentation or the label file (which is a test file; just take a look at it).
Regarding point 3: The cable and probe itself. For example, use a multimeter to measure the probe voltage.
Regarding point 4: see above.
Regarding point 5: Yes.

Best regards, Rainer.

1: Have the battery and alternator tested. Perhaps the problem will be identified then. Otherwise, check the ground connections and battery terminals for resistance and looseness.
Connect the exhaust tester and VAG-COM device and check/compare the lambda value. The exhaust system must be completely leak-free.

Due to your automatic transmission, the initial search doesn't focus on free software, but you can still access it this way. It might have a stored error code. If it's not shifting properly at certain temperatures, please check the values of the temperature sensors for reasonableness.
