Hi everyone,
My AFN needs a new cylinder head after the crankshaft bolt broke. Now, there are "up to engine number" and "from engine number" options. Does anyone know the difference(s)? I've been trying to figure out that one has 7mm valve stems and the other has 8mm. Could that be it? If so, which one is which? Are there any other differences?
Smoky greetings.
Peter.

Okay, I only know of the AFN part number 028 103 373 N, which should have 8mm valve shafts. What other part numbers do you have available?

Then I'll have to figure out what's going on myself. Here are a few differences:
According to a certain uncle, the first 1Z and AFN cylinder heads were manufactured with 8mm valve stems. From AFN 002 001 onwards, different valve springs were used. In the Golf, 7mm valve stems were already used, while in the Sharan, 8mm valve stems were used. From AFN 430 892 onwards, both cars used 7mm valve stems and the new springs. You can obtain both types of heads: 028 103 265 EX for the complete head with 8mm valves, and 028 103 265 NX for the same part with 7mm valve stems. There is a warning on the head marked "EX" indicating that it may also have 7mm valves installed. I believe that after the old stock is sold, AuWeh will only offer heads with 7mm valve stems.
Smoky greetings.
Peter.
