Hello everyone,

on my Golf IV TDI 81 kW from 01/98, I believe that the front axle is quite worn out after 220,000 km.
The obligatory rubber bushes have already been replaced, but this only eliminated the creaking.
Now, I need to eliminate the rattling and the vague handling.
Here's a brief explanation:
1. Regarding the rattling - it seems to be mainly coming from the front right - possibly the connecting rods or the wishbone?
2. Regarding the vague handling - when driving on tram tracks, it feels like the front axle is doing its own thing - it just feels vague and unstable?? Here, too, are the control arms suspected?

I would actually have the control arms and tie rods replaced - or is that pointless?

Sorry, a lot of text, but maybe you can give me a tip?

Regards, Andre
PS What does such a replacement cost?
