Dear forum members,
This is my first post, and I'm starting with a rather unusual problem.
First of all, thank you to the members who contribute to such a valuable "repository of knowledge"!
My problem:
Passat TDI 1Z with partial load judder/jerking.
After the cleaning of the MSW (which actually went well), there are 5 errors in the error memory that were not present before.
"Furthermore, VAG-Com displays a coolant temperature of -20.7 degrees (note the minus sign), which causes the glow plugs to activate even when the engine is warm."
The values for the valve lift and injection amount are within the tolerance range (1.4V / 4.6mg/H).
Memory errors:
"Air mass sensor fault: Short circuit to positive voltage (B+)."
539 Fuel temperature, no text.
522 Coolant temperature, No text.
777 Accelerator Pedal Sensor, implausible signal.
741 Brake pedal monitoring, No text.
The engine runs smoother than before, but doesn't always respond immediately to the accelerator pedal position.
I only cleaned the MSW (presumably a machine or device), and it really shouldn't be possible that the cleaning process damaged all the sensors inside.
Could the cleaning process have damaged the control unit as well?
I hope someone has an idea .
Best regards until then.
Heiko.

Yes, the search function:
Okay, I'm ready. Please provide the German text you want me to translate into English. Just paste it here, and I will give you the translation.

Hi,
My suspicion is: "Fuel temperature..."
Something burned out inside the pump, which damaged the control unit.
Disconnect the two pins for the fuel temperature sensor on the injection pump and see if the error codes can be cleared. If they do clear, you're lucky, and now you just need to figure out what you did wrong with the pump.
Otherwise, please refer to the link provided by Bertil.
Best regards, Rainer.

First of all, thank you for the quick responses.
@ Bertil
"I'm sorry, I had no idea what I was supposed to be looking for given all the different errors. Also, I don't have any chips or a box inside."
Tomorrow, I'm going to take a look at the control unit to see if I can find any burnt-out components.
@ Rainer K.
I then opened the pump again because I had a similar suspicion. I soldered the pins in exactly the same order as they come from the connector into the pump housing. Are any of them possibly connected incorrectly, perhaps crossed over?
Do the contacts 4 and 7 on the connector correspond to the contacts for the fuel temperature sensor?
Best regards and have a pleasant evening.
Heiko.

After the error codes ...
They are exactly the same as the ones you have (just in English), at the links provided.

I don't have a chip or a box inside either.

It doesn't matter at all.
The primary cause of the defects in the link was not the box itself, but the wiring. Anyone who disassembles the wiring at the pump without disconnecting the battery usually damages their control unit (ECU). This is because the grounding conductor path inside the ECU overheats, and the specified errors then occur.
The injectors aren't defective; the problem is that there's a lack of grounding in the control unit (ECU).
Every 3-4 months, I encounter a case like this again. These cars are often available for purchase at a low price because the "specialized" workshops can't (or won't) find these issues. These problems frequently occur after pump replacements.

Great news, the car is running again thanks to your help!
The image from Dustman99 was very helpful; I would never have found the spot without it. In my case, the area was only slightly discolored and there was no odor.
Thank you again.

I still can't figure out exactly what caused the track to burn through (maybe while adjusting/checking the control potentiometer ), perhaps it should be explicitly mentioned in the instructions for disassembling the MWS. It seems to happen quite often and can be an expensive problem.
Greetings and thank you.
Heiko.

Image?
There's nothing attached to the old thread. If you still have the picture, please post it here.

Yes, that's exactly where I found the picture.
There's still a small issue to be addressed.
The consumption display shows 99.9 liters, and the value is not changing.
All other values are working correctly.
No more errors in memory.
Greetings.
Heiko.

That must be a problem with the connection between MSTG and AI.
As far as I remember from the circuit in the 1Z module, the power consumption signal was transmitted to the control interface (KI) via a PWM signal from the main system timer generator (MSTG). You'll need to investigate that further.
I haven't encountered that error yet.

Could someone possibly upload the image again here?
I'm having the same problem right now, but I can't find where it's happening!

Unfortunately, I can't see the image! I'm looking for a diagram or instructions for soldering the ground plane connections.
"Or can someone tell me exactly where I need to look for something?"
