Hello, I have a question.
Is it possible to adjust the immobilizer settings in the engine control unit using VCDS (VagCom) so that you can continue to use the old keys and the old instrument cluster after an engine swap, along with the new engine control unit?
Okay, so I have an AJM engine and I want to install an ARL engine.
And that's why my question is: since the engine control unit needs to be replaced, I was wondering if I can adjust the immobilizer built into the new ECU myself using VAGCOM, so that the car will still start after the conversion.
Okay, so my AJM engine is from a car manufactured in 1999, and the ARL engine that I'm going to install is from a car manufactured in 2000.
It seems to be more complicated than I thought.
Since the production year and model year don't always align, a vehicle produced in 1999 could very well be a 2000 model year, while a vehicle produced in 2000 could be a 2001 model year. Therefore, it would be helpful to be more specific. While both are definitely WFS-2 compliant, the question is whether the wiring is compatible (specifically regarding CAN).
