Adjusting the engine control unit (ECU) for a VW Sharan.

Hello everyone.

I got this for my VW Sharan, manufactured in 1997.
Engine number: AFN. A used engine control unit was obtained.
Same VW part number as the old 028906021 CG.
Bosch Part Number: 0281 001 529
I have a VAG 1551 diagnostic tester available.
Can someone explain how to install it on the vehicle?
"On the old one, the vacuum hose burst and it was full of engine oil."

Hello,

Check the engine control unit coding and adjust the immobilizer (save adaptation channel 0 in the immobilizer system). That's it. It works exactly like with VAG-COM.

Up to August 1997, the Sharan still had Immo 1, so it's more likely to be found here.
