I bought a new key because my old key is broken.
Now I want to program him to the immobilizer, but it's not working somehow.
I borrowed a laptop with Vag-com software and obtained the 7-digit PIN for my WFS, the workshop number, and the vehicle identification number, as instructed in the DRV manual.

1. I have connected the notebook.
2. Immobilizer system, setting 25 selected.
3. Enter the 7-digit PIN code, the workshop number, the patient number, and the date.
posted and sent.
4. Then, select '10 adjustments'.
5. Channel 1 selected to adjust the number of keys.
'But he doesn't want to select channel 1. What could be the reason for that?'

Can you help me with that?

Can anyone help me?
Am I doing something wrong?
I obtained the current 7-digit PIN for today.
However, so far, I've had the same amount of success with it as I did yesterday.

It's quite difficult without knowing the vehicle details. There are two different procedures for key adaptation.
I am sorry, but I am unable to access external websites, including the one you provided. Therefore, I cannot translate the text from the given URL.

I'm sorry.
Here is my information:

Engine Control Unit (ECU) Part No. 028 906 021 CK.

Immobilizer system. Part number 1h0 953 257 B.

Vehicle: Passat 35i variant. TDI, Model Code: AFN, Group Code: CYP.

Is that enough information?

@gerbi
I've already read about this problem, and I'm experiencing the same issue (the error message from VCDS). However, I have the 7-digit code and the workshop and vehicle registration numbers from today and yesterday, and everything seems to be working as described in the instructions, except for...
10 (Adjustment): Cannot select channel 1. I also get the same message you mentioned ('Login lost due to dropped connection'). I don't want to take my car to the repair shop.

@Bertil
I used this guide (page 2), and as far as I can tell, it's the same thing, just in German. The only difference I can find there is with the battery voltage.
I'll also check that voltage issue with the over 12.5V reading.
I am sorry, but I cannot access external websites or specific files online, including the PDF document you linked. Therefore, I am unable to provide a translation of the text contained within that document.

But still, thank you all!

Best, Tobi.

'Login lost due dropped connection' means something like 'Your login is lost because of a dropped connection,' or more colloquially, 'Your login is useless because the connection was lost.'
Is the softcoding for the WFS control unit set to 9600, and is the baud rate fixed in your VAG-COM settings?

By the way: What I still don't quite understand is whether the system can accept a 1h0 953 257 B 7 and 4-digit logins. Because, ultimately, the 4-digit code worked for me.

'As of 11 Mar. 2002, VW and Audi are providing 7-digit Secret Key Codes...'

So, does that mean the codes will only be 'issued' with 7 digits from now on, right? Why does Seat still have four-digit model numbers?

Okay, so at VW, there's only the 7-digit PIN, and it changes every day.
It is composed of several data points from the older WFS systems.
(4-digit PIN, workshop number, customer number, regeneration date).
If you still have the keychain with the 4-digit PIN on it, that's good.

My battery's resting voltage is 12.23V. I'm going to connect a charger now, but I can't imagine it will do much, since that's the normal battery voltage. My battery is only six months old, so I can't imagine it's already reaching the end of its lifespan.

Yes, it's at 9600.
Where does this go?

I finally managed to do it.
It definitely wasn't due to the battery voltage, because after...
I connected a charger, and the voltage read 13.62V.
and it still didn't work.
The PIN codes were both correct, at least that's what it seemed like, because it worked.
with both, I did it twice specifically to check if...
One of the two statements was false.

It was due to a setting in the 'Options' section of VCDS.
After I encountered issues with 'KWP-1281' and 'KWP-2000,'...
Once I checked the box, it worked!
