Can You Determine Engine Mileage?

Hello!!
I need some urgent advice. I recently bought a used 1.9 1Z TDI engine that is supposedly supposed to have 127,000 km on it.
But somehow, I have a feeling that this one is more capable.
Is there a way to verify if this is true?
I would be very grateful if you could provide me with some information on that matter.

Impossible, and for good reason.

In the 'newer' models, it's configured in the engine control unit. In this 'older' one, there's less of that . All you can do is have faith, and faith can move mountains .

Apparently, there are ways to determine the mileage from the engine oil. This usually costs around €100. Just ask at DEKRA.

Well, my engine and car didn't seem to have suffered from the extra 100,000 km. According to the odometer, mine should have had 170,000 km on it. Since I didn't trust that Southern European car dealer, I did some research and found information in the VW database. The vehicle was last at a VW workshop six months before the purchase with a mileage of around 260,000 km. Maybe that's a way to find out something if you can get the VIN from the donor vehicle. Otherwise, maybe go to a fair and visit the nice lady with the crystal ball .

To be honest, I can't really imagine exactly how the engine oil analysis is performed, but it is recognized as an expert opinion in court. It is also possible to carry out the analysis even after several oil changes, provided that the oil being tested has been running in the engine for 1000 km.
