Hello,

"Both screws holding the refrigerant lines on the AC condenser broke off (after I hit a deer head-on)."
Just picked up the replacement parts from the dealer, BUT something I've been wondering about since I removed the old lines is:

How do I get this huge, oversized nut through the rubber grommet???

Does anyone have any advice?

Regards,
macro

Hmm, it almost looks like there was originally a hose of a "different caliber" there.

Or can the hose be inserted from the other side? Perhaps the end fitting isn't as large on that side.

(It now sounds a bit ambiguous in the context of your title).

Otherwise, just "close your eyes and go through with it" icon_lol.gif.

The word "virgin" in the title caught my attention and made me aware of the thread.
I also wanted to know how the large part fits through the small opening icon_wink.gif.

I came across a part in the file that is labeled "TN 4B0 820 177 Throttle."
It's possible that the valve needs to pass through the hole, rather than the hose with the coupling nut.

Sure, Maxx.

Hello,

Well, what can I say...
Since the nut on the other side of the hose/tube (which are crimped together) was also so large, I tried using brute force, and sure enough:

If you manage to squeeze the case through the opening so that one side is visible, you can usually push it through with a little bit of effort using your fingernails, without the rubber tearing (which sounds a bit silly in connection with the title).
It's surprisingly flexible, that rubber thing icon_smile.gif.

That was the actual purpose of the title icon_wink.gif.

It's possible that the valve needs to pass through the hole, rather than the hose with the threaded fitting.

The valve (6A) is located beyond the rubber part in the spray nozzle and is firmly pressed onto the pipe to which the coupling nut must be screwed.
The rubber part is size 10A.
To expand it, I cut the pipe, which made it very easy to remove.
During installation, this approach would have icon_twisted.gif likely not yielded much benefit.

Okay, to everyone who might stumble upon this thread in the future because they're experiencing the same problem...
The solution is:

Close your eyes and just do it.
That will work out icon_cool.gif.
