Hello everyone,
Unfortunately, my air conditioner has broken down in this weather.
The thin tube on the expansion valve, leading to the interior, cannot be sealed, even with new O-rings. I've already tried everything.
Do you have any good advice?
Are there any changes in the sealing from Volkswagen's side?
Does the edge of the pipe also have a sealing function? It seems a bit flattened. However, there is still some space between the expansion valve and the pressure plate.
Does the entire pipe need to be removed?
I really need help urgently.

HI.
"Try installing an O-ring with the same diameter but a larger cross-section. We have a selection of those at the company, supplied by Normfest. Just remember to lubricate it with PAG oil, as these rings are often more prone to leaks when dry."

Hi Rüdi,
Good idea, thank you. Unfortunately, I don't know the standard size. The original VW ring is purple, the one I replaced was green.
The expansion valve has a poorly designed seat for the O-ring. The crimped edge of the tube doesn't press firmly enough on the ring, so it only seals from two sides. In fact, two rings can even fit behind each other in the seat. Unfortunately, the workshop I usually use was already closed, so I couldn't test this further.
Is there another way to test the tightness besides using a climate control service machine in the workshop? Perhaps with compressed air? I know that compressed air can be humid...
