Glow Plug Light Blinking: Basic Settings & Troubleshooting

When performing the basic settings for block 003 using VAG COM 311, the glow plug warning light flashes irregularly, but at very short intervals. The pattern is 6-8 short flashes, followed by 2 very short flashes in quick succession, all within a 0.5-second interval. Is this normal? It's obvious that I have a problem with the EGR system. But is it really coming from the control unit (rough idle during warm-up)? I didn't have this problem from the beginning... The EGR valve has already been replaced. I also adjusted the value to the maximum (33638). Now the target value is approximately 345 mg/h (previously 255), and the desired value is about 430. But the jerking is still there. The EGR valve switches between active and inactive approximately every 5-8 seconds. By the way, when the engine slowly increases its RPM, it shakes violently around 1100 RPM, and then the jerking stops immediately.

Just disconnect the hose from the EGR valve and plug it, then test it again. I think your injection timing is way off.

How many kilometers are on your car, and what happened before this issue arose, or did it develop gradually?

Hallo, war heute in der Werkstatt. Der KFZ-Meister stellte sofort fest, dass aus dem Ladedruckrohr zum AGR-Ventil unten Öl rausläuft. Dann sahen wir, dass bei einer Reparatur am Druckrohr was kaputtgegangen ist. Und zwar beim Übergang vom AGR-Ventil und Druckrohr. Dort ist ein Stück Metall abgerissen. Dadurch kann man das Druckrohr ca. 1.5 cm herausziehen. Vermutlich zieht er damit Falschluft. Habe das Rohr gleich bestellt. KPrice: 34 Euros.

Hallo, habe vor ein paar Wochen das Druckrohr neu drangemacht. Jetzt lief der Wagen bis vor ein paar Tagen bevor es kalt/nass wurde sehr gut. Das abrupte Abbremsen nachdem man von Gaspedal ging war weg...man konnte ihn endlich gleiten lassen und oben raus lief er richtig frei hoch. Das in den Sitzdrücken ist aber noch immer als Drücken von hinten vorhanden. Vorher war es ja immer ein Ziehen... Gasannahme war sehr gut. Jetzt auf einmal nach einer Standzeit von 2-3 Tagen fuhr ich los und merkte wieder dieses üble Turboloch im 1. Gang von dem ich 1.500 km verschont blieb. Ferner bremste er wieder ein wenig ab wenn man vom Gas ging und wenn er Richtung Leerlaufdrehzahl geht ruckelt er mehrmals ein wenig.( nur 2. Gang) Ich frage mich wirklich was sich in den 2-3 Tagen als er stand wieder geändert hat...ausser das Wetter. Die AGR-Rate ist noch immer doppelt so hoch wie das Soll obwohl das undichte Druckrohr direkt am AGR ventil getauscht wurde. Hängt es vielleicht noch damit zusammen dass am Innenrand des AGR-Ventils der abgeschliffene Bereich sich noch immer negativ bemerkbar macht weil das Rohr bei grossem Druck noch immer (aber nicht mehr so stark ) rausgedrückt wird ? Werde noch ein paar Bilder von dem komplett plan geschliffenen Aussenbereich des Druckrohrs hier hochladen. Wundere mich wirklich warum denen das in der Werkstatt beim Tausch des AGR-Ventils nicht aufgefallen ist, da die Schleifspuren auch beim alten AGR-Ventil vorhanden sind. Für meine Begriffe hängt da immer wieder was.... als würde ein Ventil nicht immer sofort komplett öffnen sondern erst dann wenn genug Druck da ist. Und wenn es dann mal komplett offen ist nicht mehr ganz schliessen... Was wäre am sinnvollsten zu tauschen ? Ventil AGR N18 ? Magnetventil ? Ladedruckventil ? Membrandose ?

Then, after driving about 1-2 kilometers, it drops back down. Could there be a hose that has a leak and is blowing warmer air towards the outside temperature sensor?'
