Hello everyone,

My radio provides +12V on the white wire for the antenna amplifier of the roof antenna (no phantom power, manufactured in 03/94), but nothing arrives at the antenna icon_confused.gif.

Does anyone know if the cable is continuous, or if it's still branched off or connected somewhere (fuse, switch for the buzzer (lights/radio on), etc.)? Where does the cable come from in the front, under the roof? Does it run along the left side, under the footrests, and then up to the C or D pillar?

Thank you and best regards.

In the wiring harness of the control panel, there's a branch leading to the AI system. However, that's definitely not defective, and besides, you won't find the location without removing the dashboard icon_wink.gif.

"It's not shown in my wiring diagram, but there should be a connector behind the panel in the driver's footwell that connects the wiring harness from the dashboard to the wiring harness that runs to the rear of the vehicle. (The wiring harness from the dashboard can be disconnected and removed if the dashboard is removed.)"

Problem found...

For those who might be interested:

In the B4 Avant, the antenna cable runs along with the white +12V cable through the center tunnel towards the rear, and then along the left D-pillar, under the headliner, to the antenna.

Beneath the radio, there's still a connector for the white cable (coming from the antenna). On my side, there was nothing connected to it on the radio/instrument panel. Apparently, I've never had power supplied to the amplifier, or perhaps I overlooked something during some tinkering.
