Airbag Error 65535: A3 8L Repair Guide (Solution)

Airbag warning light is illuminated, error code in the fault memory: "Control unit defective."

Affected vehicle identification numbers:
AUZZZ8LZWA000001 - 999999

Cause:
Contaminants in the acceleration sensor cause interference. This leads to the depletion of the energy reserve.
Only control units that identify themselves as "Airbag 6" or "Airbag 7" in the self-diagnosis function are affected.

Solution:
Replacement of the airbag control unit and both lateral acceleration sensors.
