Hello everyone,
Can someone tell me how to switch my STG76 to trailer mode?
The AHK (trailer hitch) was installed later, and now the PDC (parking distance control) registers the trailer as an obstacle when reversing. To allow the PDC to be deactivated, the coding in the control unit (ECU) must be changed.
now being changed.
In the VAG-COM description, it states: Control unit 76 -> Function 07: ?xxxx (Towing device 0: no, 1: yes).
How do I change the encoding in the VAG-COM software? I select "Stg76", and then what?
I've only used the interface so far to read the error codes, so I'm not really sure how the coding can be changed here.
Thank you in advance!

You can change the encoding settings using the "Encoding" button.
To get more information, you need to provide us with more details.
- Which car?
- What is the STG part number?
- which current encoding?
- Which VCDS version?

... there was another T.
I don't know what the f*ck it was.

What are you planning to do?
According to my understanding, it automatically turns off when a trailer is connected (this is detected via the 13-pin connector).

It is also recognized with the 7-pin connector (at least with a proper electrical kit ).
"In my electric scooter (Jäger model), a small pin had to be inserted into a connector on the PDC control unit."
and then

The EPH (Electronic Parking Helper) must be reprogrammed using a special service tester (type 5051, 1551, or 1552)!
Connect the service tester and, using the address word 76, select the control unit for the parking assistance system.
(See SKODA manual)
Select the engine control unit (ECU) coding and change the first digit of the 5-digit code number to 1 | .
It seems that was already being done.

Basically, the parking distance control (PDC) should be disabled when reversing with a trailer. Currently, this is not the case; the trailer is being recognized as an obstacle during reversing, and the PDC is constantly beeping.
I found out through Google that you have to take active steps to disable the trailer hitch function. There's a microswitch built into the trailer hitch control module. A wire needs to be connected from this microswitch to pin 5 of the PDC (Parking Distance Control) connector. When a trailer is attached, the microswitch grounds pin 5 of the PDC connector, which deactivates the PDC. However, this only works if the PDC control unit has been reprogrammed. And that's what I want to do now...

Sure. It worked perfectly for me too.
The PDC STG has two connectors. The brown connector receives the additional contact.
