Hello,

I just disassembled my dad's Audi A8 (due to several leaks) and found an injector where diesel was leaking from the electrical connector after we disconnected the plug.

The injector must therefore have a leak internally towards the connector. VW only offers sealing kits for the combustion chamber side and the oil circuit side. Their solution would naturally be a new injector (almost €500 per piece, V8 engine...). That's why I'm asking the experts:

Is it possible to reseal the injector?

Does anyone know of a significantly cheaper source for this product?

Part number of the injector: 057 130 276 H.
Vehicle: A8 with Tiptronic transmission, engine code AKF, 3.3L common rail diesel, total mileage 270,000 km, complete fuel injection system replaced at 160,000 km (with parts and warranty).

Currently, I'm leaning towards not making any changes for now. Before the disassembly, the low-speed running system was functioning normally. The residual value of the vehicle and the expected new mileage of 10,000 km per year don't really justify significant investments.

Currently, we cannot start the engine because it is disassembled. I have attached a picture of the nozzle and the current state of the fuel system (the pressure regulator has been reinstalled). Unfortunately, the quality is poor as I only had a phone camera available. In the injector image, you can see that there is diesel in the connector of the left injector. This diesel can only leak out from the nozzle, as it would otherwise have to flow uphill.

Regards,
Sure.

Are you sure it's coming from the connector and not the return line? Because if it's coming from the connector, then that thing is probably ruined. How are you going to seal or disassemble something like that? There aren't really any seals in that area; it's likely a hairline crack in the plastic.
