Sharan Brake Pad Wear Sensor

"Hi, I'm having a problem with my Sharan. When I turn on the ignition, the brake pad warning light immediately illuminates. Then it goes off again, but sometimes it also comes on while driving. The front and rear brake pads are new."

I've also sprayed contact cleaner on the connectors.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

There must be a broken cable somewhere.

I've experienced this before with a Passat. I had new brake pads installed, but the warning light still came on. Often, it only appears after turning the steering wheel.
"In my case, it was due to the wiring harness that runs from the brake pad connector to the fender. You could buy that part from Febi. The ABS sensor is also connected to it in the Passat."

I've temporarily disabled the ad.

Is this plug also available directly from VW?

The connector housing that's attached to the wiring harness is available separately. You can also find cable sections with connectors that are compatible for connecting. It doesn't cost much.
I'm not sure about the connector that's attached to the brake pad.
