Hello friends,
VAG Com is showing a fault code P 1226, which indicates a short circuit and misfire on one of the injectors in my Golf 4 1.6 AVU engine.
I replaced the nozzle, but the engine is still running on 3 cylinders.
The same mistakes.
Spark present, fuel present. Compression OK.
Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you have any advice?

Yes, don't use so many "!"s, one is enough.
It's highly likely, with a 98% probability, that the problem lies in the wiring harness if the nozzle is new. MfG. Michael

Okay, that just got resolved.
On the "About..." screen. That's okay.
Yes, wiring would still be a good suggestion. Could you please post a copy of the error code data from the engine control unit (ECU address 01) here?
Best regards, Rainer.

After replacing the fuel injectors, the ELSA system indicates that the old learned values must be erased, and the engine control unit needs to be recalibrated. Is that correct? If so, how is it done with VCDS?

In the engine control unit, store the value 0 in adaptation channel 1.
I don't remember off the top of my head whether you need a login (access permission) for that. However, your error message is still strange. Could you please re-post the contents of the error log? Or, ideally, a complete scan so that the part numbers can be identified.
Best regards, Rainer.

This message also appeared before the fuel injector was replaced.

Just try swapping nozzles 2 and 3, and then clear the error memory. Make sure you haven't switched to the wrong one.
Best regards, Rainer.

If the first cylinder is located on the front side when looking at the timing belt, then I'm sure the second one is there too. Replaced the nozzle.
Pairing the device didn't have any effect either.
When I start the engine, the ESP light illuminates first. Then, when I press the accelerator, the exhaust warning light flashes briefly and then remains on continuously.
