Hello,

Unfortunately, someone threw a rock at my window this afternoon.
I have had good experiences with Carglass so far, but I would prefer to avoid it due to time and distance constraints.

Does anyone have experience with whether such a set is suitable for filling in the small crater?
It's not very deep, but experience shows that these areas tend to rub against the rubber edge of the windshield wipers over time, and thus also against the 'water reservoir' in the crater, causing annoying 'water streaks' when cleaning. icon_cry.gif

An UV lamp for EPROM erasure is available.

Best regards, Rainer

Hi!

I strongly advise against using such self-repairs sets, as you will definitely not be able to fill the cracks with air in this way.
And once the filler has been applied, a professional repair via vacuum filling will no longer be possible.
In addition, you must pay for the RepSet; a stone-throwing Rep. will pay for it. R. the partial insurance without taking into account the most commonly selected SB *tip-geb*

If the rockfall occurs in a completely inconspicuous spot, you can certainly try it, as it is quite gentle icon_wink.gif

This was also tested on TV in a car magazine, with a devastating result based on the reasons mentioned by DieselBär...

When professionally repairing, the crack is evacuated, and then the resin is essentially sucked into the crack using a vacuum – and if you do it yourself, it won't work later on, so I would also have it done professionally.

Unfortunately, I can't find the link to the test right now. I think it was an Audi Q7, if I remember correctly...
