Hello Martin,
The relays for the PTC heating elements are activated by the MSG. However, there is no connection between the relay output and the MSG, so the MSG cannot determine whether the PTC has actually been activated.
I think the feedback field was intended for the older model years (e.g., 3C 2006), where the PTC was still controlled separately via a separate STG.
Since I (thanks to STH) unfortunately don't have a PTC, I'm not familiar with the measurement values. Since these devices are activated by the MSG, I would like to check if there are any relevant measurements available.
Or, if available, measure at SA4 + 7 using a clamp meter. Alternatively, remove the fuse, activate the PTC, and re-insert the fuse, or bridge with a wire. The MSG will not notice the removed fuses and should still activate the relay. When bridging the safety point, you will then directly see the spark, indicating whether the PTC is activated
Other question: What were the conditions (besides the A-Temp) I believe that the PTCs are activated, at least, depending on the battery voltage, and possibly also depending on other conditions such as LiMa load, afterglow, etc.
Best regards
Hendrik
