Tuning ECU: Optimized Engine Control Unit & MFA

Hello, I am the 'new' .

I've been reading here for quite some time now...

I have a 20-year-old Golf 3 TDI GTI with the AFN engine.

I recently bought a chipped engine control unit from a friend at a good price.
which he, according to his statement, had optimized with a car at either 'ertl' or 'örtl'.

The control unit is a 028 906 021 DF control unit.

The car is running okay so far; I adjusted the WFS (Warm Function Start) using VAG-COM.

Now I would like to ask how the MFA values change.
Or, to put it another way, are they still 'credible,' or does anyone know?
Anything about the tuning from the MFA?

Yes, if the tuning was at least done technically correctly (which doesn't say anything about whether the changes are sensible or acceptable).
If it was shoddy work: no.

Okay, so the company that chipped the engine control unit was *********.
I had the invoice provided to me for the purpose of registration according to §21.
Do they have any experience regarding the quality of the tuning?
How can I actually upload photos here?

Sorry, aufgrund mangelnder Nachvollziehbarkeit von anonym gemachten Aussagen gibts hier sowas i.d. Don't break the rules.

An alternative would be to adjust the MFA (Multi-Function Display) using VCDS (if possible, on a car with an AFN engine, which is quite old; I don't recall off the top of my head whether there's a corresponding adjustment channel in the instrument cluster).

"Using OBD definitely won't work in this case, because the Golf III's engine control unit doesn't have a diagnostic port."
