Today, I unsuccessfully attempted to replace the G200 sensor on a Golf IV (model year 2002) with engine code AJM and chassis code 6G, which has a manual transmission.
The error reappears immediately after being cleared.

Label file: RKS\1C0-907-37x-ESP-F.lbl
Control unit part number: 1C0 907 379 E.
Component and/or version: ESP FRONT MK60 0104.
Encoding: 0019458
Operating number: WSC 01317 785 00200
"One error found:"
01423 - Lateral acceleration sensor (G200)
012 - Electrical fault in the circuit.
According to the SLP documentation, both the G202 and G200 sensors are powered by the same cables (connected via cable connectors within the wiring harness).
The G202 sensor appears to be functioning correctly.
Further research has not yet been possible due to time constraints.
Cause: Intermittent connection, broken cable, or control unit (ECU) failure?
Who can help? 3B5 AJM

Yes, but only if the dual sensor is installed. However, since you mentioned that you only replaced the G200, it's likely that you don't have the dual sensor installed. This means that each of your sensors still has its three separate cables connected to the control unit (STG).
Default setting, but did you change it after the switch? MfG. Michael

Die Sensoren sind einzeln. Die Stromversorgung geschieht gemeinsam - s. J3 u. J5.

As far as I know, the basic adjustment can only be performed when the error memory is empty, right? 3B5 AJM

Hmm, it seems they've made some changes to the duosensor as well.

Not necessarily. If you haven't set the initial position, it's clear that it won't work. So, try setting it again when you can; it should then work properly. The conditions are known, right? It needs to be on a flat surface and with the motor turned off. MfG. Michael

I will try to perform the initial setup as soon as possible. 3B5 AJM

It's practically been done about 5 times. The error code was displayed, the sensor was replaced, the error code still appeared, a reset was performed, everything seemed fine, the error disappeared, and the light went out.
Sure, that's kind of weird. Maybe the TCU doesn't recognize that many error codes, I have no idea . MfG. Michael

The error probably cleared itself after about 90 km of driving, as I discovered today. In any case, the light is now off.
Turn it off now.
I will definitely read the system again and perform a basic reset as soon as possible.
Thank you for the support . 3B5 AJM

I'm currently experiencing the same problem with a Golf 4 (MKB ASV, manufactured in 2001) at work.
The transverse acceleration sensor has already been removed, and I'm just waiting for confirmation so I can order a new one.
Did you perform the basic calibration again, or did the sensor actually adjust itself automatically?
Or could it have been that the cable to the control unit was loose, which is why it sometimes turned off?
I would also like to measure the cables, but unfortunately, I'm missing the necessary pins on the control unit (STG) and also don't know the location where the ESP control unit is installed.
The ESP light also occasionally goes out here.
Greetings. Kaum macht man es richtig, funktioniert es!

Transverse acceleration sensor installed, and the ESP light immediately turned off.
Test drive in the snow, and the ESP (Electronic Stability Program) works wonderfully.
