Hello!
The boss of the workshop next door once confided in me.
He's having problems with the DPF in his private Audi.
This is an A 6 automatic, model year 2007, with engine code BRE.
The DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) was clogged, making the car undrivable, so he installed a new one.
The "Aschemenge" software has not yet been reprogrammed.
He's somehow not getting anywhere with his Bosch tester.
He only showed me the expression on which it says...
Exhaust gas temperature before the particulate filter - 273°C (minus!!!).
I haven't used VCDS to read the data myself yet, but I plan to do so in the next few days.
Can anyone tell me in advance which sensor measures the temperature?
Or whether there are any other known issues.
Incorrectly routed cable, blown fuse, or something like that?
Grüße, Steffen!

The (exhaust temperature) sensor is likely located above the transmission, inside the exhaust pipe.

Edit: Hmm, I somehow automatically assumed it was a 3.0 TDI, but it's actually a 2.0.

Hello Steffen,
"Before the diesel particulate filter," there are two temperature sensors: one is located at the air intake, and the other is located at the front of the particulate filter.
Are there any other error messages?
Best regards, Rainer.

Hello!
So, it's funny:
The engine control unit's fault memory is clear.
I have reviewed the extended measurement data.
However, the vehicle was still relatively cold.
Exhaust temperature: 390°
Engine temperature before turbo: 156°
Temperature in DPF - 276°
Differential pressure in the DPF: 0.00.
Ash content 0.00%
Distance and time since regeneration: 0.00.
Temperature before DPF - 276.00°
In the basic settings, I reviewed the ash loading values.
Time since regeneration: 0.00. All values are 0.00.
Nothing has been reset since the DPF was replaced.
Furthermore, I also learned something at the end.
that the engine control unit has been tuned or somehow "re-flashed."
Does that raise a suspicion, or what?
If I understand correctly, the engine control unit (ECU) can never initiate a regeneration process if it always assumes that...
that the DPF is empty.

Pitfall: "Unscrew the temperature sensor located at the inlet of the DPF. Heating the threaded housing can help. The sensor is located in the middle, towards the oxygen sensor connection."
If the DPF is in the vehicle, it is very difficult to insert/remove the cable without damaging it; it is better to do it when the DPF is removed.
In the picture, the sensor is labeled "Lambda Sensor," and below it, the silver-coated cable is lying around aimlessly.
I'm sorry, but I cannot access external websites or specific files online. Therefore, I am unable to translate the text from the provided URL.
Best regards, Rainer.

Hello,
It seems like the temperature values are mixed up somehow.
The exhaust gas temperature corresponds to the temperature before the turbocharger. Then comes the temperature before the catalytic converter, and finally the temperature before the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter).
Regarding the magnitudes, 2 minutes after a cold start (CBBB):
Pre-loader: 390 degrees.
Before Kat: 120 degrees.
Before DPF: 42 degrees.

Hi!
I received feedback on this today, and I would like to share it here:
It appears that...
that the particulate filter, as previously suspected, has been deactivated.
Even though it was still installed and not "emptied".
This will affect the tuner who did this as a side business and also charged several hundred euros for it.
to have further repercussions.
The vehicle owner understandably doesn't just accept this easily.
having to pay for the clogged particulate filter out of my own pocket, plus being stranded, having vacation time ruined, and having to be towed, etc.

What? Does anyone really program a DPF out just out of boredom and without a specific request? Surely, someone must have given an order for something, like tuning or something similar?
It sounds very mysterious. Who was that?

Hi!
Well, that's all I can say about it.
That the car owner wanted to have his car "chipped," probably just for the thrill of it, I think.
Then a vehicle engineer drove from the neighboring town.
He works at VW and does chip tuning as a side job.
I'm familiar with the place; it's a district of our city, but I don't recognize the person.
That's all I can and want to say about it.
because I'm not entirely sure what was agreed upon.
They need to sort that out between themselves.
who will be responsible for the damages.
Furthermore, I can only say that the tuner likely made a copy of the original engine control unit software.
and which has now been reinstalled.

Oh my God . This story about working at VW and still having a side job??? As the example shows, he probably only does kitchen duty there. I know several stories about this so-called VW employee.
The fact that no one has overturned it yet surprises me.
