Hi, I drive a Golf 4 TDI with a 90 HP ALH engine. Can someone possibly tell me how to modify the injection quantity for hot starting using VAG COM? Thanks in advance.

You mean the initial guess/starting value. Answer: Yes. I assume you want to use this to solve warm-start problems. MfG. Michael

Is there a login for EDC16 engine control units (ECUs) that allows increasing the starting fuel quantity, or do these ECUs no longer support this?

Does anyone happen to know exactly what happens when you increase a value, for example, the initial amount? So, here's an example: If channel 5 is set to 32768 by default, and I want to increase the initial amount by 10%, what value should I try to set it to? Should it be 36045?
And what happens "behind the scenes"? Is the injection time extended while maintaining the same injection start point, or is it something else?

Hello,
The start of injection is essentially dependent on the coolant temperature and the amount of fuel injected. If the injection quantity (initial injection amount) is changed, the controlled start of injection also changes.
However, this is hardly relevant at the moment of starting, as no regulation can take place yet. Therefore, the static injection start setting (TDI timing checker in VCDS) must be correct.
Unfortunately, the modification mentioned does not play a role in warm start problems, as other factors are relevant here (including the starting speed and the coolant temperature seen by the engine control unit).
Best regards, Rainer.

Thank you, Rainer, for the quick response!
Do you also know what the values look like (regarding my other question)?

No, I don't have to either. You can directly see the change in fuel injection amount when you modify the input value.

That sounds plausible - I hadn't even thought of that.

Okay, new problem. I can't change anything except the idle speed. Apparently, the login isn't working. Without logging in, I can only access channel 2 (idle speed).
EiDo you have any ideas?
By the way, this is the control unit for an automatic seat adjustment system.

This is because the settings that apply to the ALH engine are not being sent to the ASZ control unit.
