Hello, I drive a car with an AFN engine producing 81 kW, and I'd like to know what you would recommend for upgrades and which ones would provide more power.
a larger turbocharger or the 17-series turbo.
and whether I would need to make any adjustments.
I am very interested in the order numbers.
Best regards, Erik.
p.s. Has anyone had experience with QuickChip?

Hi.
Are you sure that you have understood the basic principles of TDI ?
Neither a larger battery nor a larger charger automatically provides more power; it might only provide more power if the standard part is faulty and the larger one is functioning correctly. Gruß Ulf

Hi.
Perhaps you should start with a chip or a power box. It seems like you don't really know much about tuning.
Take a look at the forum. There's a lot of discussion about tuning.
But with a good chip, you already get around 25 horsepower, and by the time that becomes boring, you'll definitely have learned about the next steps.
Arne, for example, currently has a VNT 17 turbocharger on his AFN engine. However, it's not as simple as you might think.
Best regards,
The Golfman.

I hope I can figure this out soon. I need to switch from 2-stroke engines to diesel engines. Which manufacturers offer good and affordable chips (ECUs) in my area? Currently, ******** and Quickchip are nearby.

'My car now has 140,000 km on the odometer, and I think the injectors, catalytic converter, and turbocharger might be worn out. When I bought it, it ran a bit better, but now it has some misfires at 1900 rpm and another one at 3200 rpm, although they don't always occur.'

I had my car chipped at ******** because of their extensive warranty. However, that warranty wouldn't apply to you anymore due to the high mileage. Therefore, you might as well choose a cheaper provider.
But before you do that, you should probably address the other problems first, as chip tuning probably won't significantly improve them! Replacing the injectors, catalytic converter, and repairing the turbo will cost a considerable amount of money!

Hi.
If you want to address the root cause of the problem, chip tuning definitely won't help; at best, it will only mask the issue.
Instead, I would recommend, in my opinion, a few VAGCOM data logging sessions.
How do you come to the conclusion that it's specifically "dusen," "kat," and "turbo" that are responsible? Gruß Ulf

Perhaps the small holes are caused by a stuck VTG adjustment mechanism. This is quite plausible given the mileage.
Ideally, a test drive with a diagnostic system would be the best option.
If you want to stick with VW diesel engines now, it would be useful to buy or build a diagnostic cable. With the help of this forum, you can learn a lot about diesel engines using it. I did it that way, and slowly but surely, things are becoming .
If you don't push the performance gains too far (i.e., avoid exceeding the soot limit), you can buy a power box, for example, from ATU or on eBay. However, a better solution would be a good chip installed in the engine control unit.
Best regards, Golfmann.
