Climatronic coding not changeable?

Hello everyone,

Is it normal that the coding of the Climatronic cannot be changed? The vehicle is a 2005 Passat 3BG.

The input from a different encoding simply isn't being saved. Does this require a login code?

I completely forgot to mention that saving with a different encoding also fails with the current VCDS version.

The result, regardless of the version – whether it's the current VCDS license with the corresponding interface, VCDS-Lite, or the older VAG-COM – is always the same: I cannot change the coding of the Climatronic.

Changing from 17000 to 17200. This is the US setting. This adjustment is intended to better cater to the preferences of customers in the United States, particularly regarding the Climatronic system. I would like to test this setting to see if it works better for me.

I can easily imagine that for us Europeans, the American coding system isn't appealing, because the Americans tend to exaggerate with their climate zones.

I cannot be entirely certain about that . My only source of information is the former openobd website. Of course, it's possible that the information provided isn't always 100% accurate.

Others may have, but probably not the specific one you're looking for. As I mentioned before, I am not aware of any vehicle with the desired coding and that uses the parts with the part numbers and .
