Hello,

I recently purchased a Passat 365 (manufactured in 2012) with a CFGB engine and DSG (NJD) transmission. The 4motion system installed in it has...
The vehicle has a Haldex clutch from the fourth generation. Now I want to take it for an inspection, and I would like to have it done at an Audi/VW dealer because of potential warranty claims, mobility guarantee, and excellent service.
Here's my problem:
The Haldex oil needs to be changed, but supposedly without replacing the filter. The filter in the Gen4 is also slightly larger than in previous generations, but in my understanding, it's not designed to last forever. Audi/VW refuses to acknowledge this and claims that there is no replacement filter available for this Haldex system, so it doesn't need to be changed according to the service instructions.
I have a strange feeling about this. Apparently, there's a possibility to order a filter with internal components for €50 from a tuner in southern Germany online.
And now, the burning question:
Why would VW not want to change the filter, when it would be much simpler for them, due to potential liability claims, warranty cases, etc., to have the filter replaced during the regular service? It would be much easier and less problematic for VW if they could also make some extra money for the additional work. Many 4motion users, on the other hand, believe that major problems would arise if the filter were not changed according to VW's instructions. Apparently, Haldex itself specifies a replacement interval of 30,000 km, including filter replacement.
I'm now unsure whether I should purchase the filter from a specialized supplier, which might be expensive, and give the business to Audi/VW, even though the manufacturer (who is ultimately responsible for covering any damage) claims that a replacement is unnecessary?
I can't make sense of this. Does anyone have any idea what the right thing to do is?

Sure, here's the translation:

"Thank you in advance!"

PS: I don't think a VCDS scan or something similarly detailed about my car is particularly relevant to this question. However, I'm happy to upload it if you'd like.

The filter is available; I had already ordered it from Audi.

"@klahaui: I had already read your post, but I'm having trouble finding this filter at a VW or Audi dealer. The dealers and workshops I know simply ignore my requests. Only the "Süddeutsche Tuner" seems to offer this filter."
Could it be that your S3 (8P?) was not yet manufactured in the MJ08 production period and therefore still has the second generation Haldex system and the required filter change?

It makes me suspicious that VW removed the information about the oil filter change from the documentation for the fourth generation.
For first-generation models, filter replacement is mandatory. Replacing the filter is also not a complicated task. This topic is extensively discussed (http://www.motor-talk.de/forum/oelwechsel-an-der-haldex-kupplung-t4920067.html) - I hope the link to an external forum is okay) in the Tiguan forum, specifically in the "Motortalk" section.
Why is VW making it so difficult for us with the fourth generation? I find that completely illogical. Is there any reason not to change the filter? Could VW be right, and is the change actually unnecessary?
I hope I'm not bothering you, but I don't want to have a problem because I'm now saving 50€ on a filter, and I also don't want to replace parts that aren't meant to be replaced.
Thank you for your help!
