Post26-01-2016, 13:00    Subject: Reset T5 2014 Inspection Light Quote

Hello, until now, the reset function has worked either through the service's automated reset feature or via the AI in channel 17 using the command "WIV reset," followed by the new value.
After resetting the AI, only the oil change reminder was cleared; the inspection light is still on.
The latest version 15.7.1 is installed, and the TCU also accepted the reset.
With the hazard lights on and by resetting via buttons and turning the ignition off and on, I was able to reset it in a different way, but using VCDS doesn't work as described for me.
Is a different approach via AI with VCDS necessary?
Best regards, Klaus.

Check it out at [website/place].

FIX: Kilometers since last inspection.
FIX: Reset the "time since inspection" value for these two items to 0.

Okay, I've implemented a flexible interval coding system.
So, does that essentially mean it can't be reset through the WIV (whatever that is)?

Hi,

Which car? The Touran. It's been like this for years and it still works...

If in doubt, always include a car scan (Screenshot) when asking for help. This way, people know which car you're talking about and can also see which buttons are visible on your screen.

Best regards, Rainer.

The T5 has always been like this... it still lacks the automatic scan feature, and having a corresponding log for the adjustment channels would also be beneficial.

Here's the car scan.
edit: On an older T5 with a 2.5-liter engine, the service reset function automatically reset all values one after another.
However, this won't be supported in the newer models. In previous models like the 2010 T5, it was typically done through the KI 17 and the WIV reset function via an adjustment channel. I think something has changed again with the 2014 model.
The service interval can only be reset manually via the watch buttons when it comes to changing the oil.
Manually reset it while the hazard lights are on; this may also reset the inspection reminder, but possibly only to a fixed interval.

Use the VCDS function "Service reset."

See:
I'm sorry, but I cannot access external websites or specific files online. Therefore, I am unable to translate the text from the provided URL.

Oil changes and time-based maintenance are different things.

What does VCDS display in the "Time since service" adaptation channel for your vehicle?

Please also provide a Screenshot of the selection box with the possible reset options and the SRILog.txt file.

Best regards, Rainer.

The service request is being rejected with the explanation that it should be postponed due to a matter related to section 17 of the relevant regulations.
I don't have the invoice here.

I didn't create one this afternoon, but I will submit it once I regain access to the system.

Try what I told you; "FIX" is for the inspection. Even if you have it set to flexible. This has been postponed several times already.

Okay, no problem, thanks! It's just a workaround when I have to address individual values.
I'll try the "reset service" function button one more time, and then I'll proceed.

The service function key does not work with any control unit that uses the UDS protocol.

Okay, there's a message suggesting the use of adaptation channels, so a Screenshot would have been helpful...

You simply need to reset or adjust the corresponding WIV adaptation channels.
Okay, I'm ready. Please provide the German text you want me to translate into English. I will only provide the translation.
