Hello, I need your help. Someone in my circle of acquaintances has a vehicle with the problem mentioned. The owner replaced it due to various issues with the throttle position sensor (I can't say whether the gears were defective or simply dirty, as I wasn't/aren't present), and is now experiencing persistent problems. Well, that's understandable, and I would have expected something similar.
I'm kind of afraid he might show up at my door tonight, so I want to be prepared. Does anyone have a step-by-step guide on how to properly pair it? I know this is a dumb question because I've never done this before. I guess you start by clearing any errors, if possible. Then maybe delete the pairing channels and re-pair from scratch...

Hi Matthias,
So far, in these situations with my vehicle, I haven't had to do anything more than swap the part and that's it. I just cleared the error codes and took it for a test drive.
Deleting learning values won't break anything; it can be done safely.
Best regards, Rainer.

I would also like to check under "Login" (11). In some engines, it seems to be related to that area.

Hello,
Okay, the error seems to have been found. He didn't replace the entire intake manifold with the motor; he only replaced the motor itself. The same error persists. "If you now tilt the motor forward a few millimeters, the actuator test passes, and the system is error-free. I've reviewed everything again:
The shaft has some play and seems to act as a "stop," but it goes beyond its intended limit by about 2mm. I examined the old motor, connected it, and simulated the stop: it also works perfectly. I temporarily created a stop using an M4 screw. After that, a longer test run worked flawlessly. I took a photo, which I'll need to send later. If this is the solution, it explains why VW only offers the intake manifold with swirl flap as a package for over €300. It needs to be checked whether the flap seals properly when closed (is the end stop position correct?). However, there's so much oil residue and carbon buildup in that area that it probably won't ever seal completely.

Okay Would there be any objection to moving this topic to the error database?
Best regards, Rainer.

Waiting to see if it:
1. actually lasts longer.
2. The valve reaches its fully closed position cleanly (although I'm not entirely sure yet whether a misalignment of, for example, two degrees would cause any issues...).

It's still working, so I would say that after approximately 4,000 km, the "flicker method" can be considered acceptable. I'll write something for the error database, or let me know how we should proceed.
