MyAutoscan: Function and Features Explained

I want to create a "MyAutoscan" listing for a Volkswagen Golf (model with 4 cylinders) that belongs to a friend, and I want it to be available as an option for potential buyers.

I did that by modifying the "MyAutoscan.txt" file in the VCDS directory, but in the Autoscan window, I always only see the option "Automatic Detection" along with the vehicle types listed in the "Autoscan.txt" file in the dropdown menu.

Question: How do I get my individual vehicles from the list "MyAutoscan.txt" into the dropdown menu?

I've never experimented with MyAutoscan. I always just directly modified the Autoscan file, which worked well.

It worked perfectly for me right away. All the semicolons ( in the file indicate a comment.
You only need to remove the semicolon from the line that says "Ulfs Auto" and adjust the device addresses (everything after "Ulfs Auto") to your desired values.

The advantage of using MyAutoScan.txt compared to modifying the Autoscan.txt file is that with MyAutoScan.txt, the created file should be preserved during updates (or at least easier to back up), while changes to Autoscan.txt are overwritten without mercy.

That semicolon was the key issue - I deleted it from MyAutoscan, and now the individual car appears at the top of the dropdown menu.
