The reasoning behind this is to preserve the battery. Does it make sense to enable QRS? Or am I potentially creating problems by doing so?

Hi Andreas,

Unfortunately, this will not extend the battery life. The reality is that after a trip, various control units remain active for a while before gradually "going to sleep."

If you're experiencing problems with excessive idle current and want to measure the cause, you can't wait for all the control units to "fall asleep" before each measurement. This can take several minutes.
To enable a direct measurement, there is the function you mentioned. However, this setting likely represents a one-time "sleep" function, as anything else would not make sense. There's a reason why various control units don't go to sleep simultaneously (e.g., engine cooling, "coming home" function, etc.).

Best regards, Rainer.

Hello Rainer,

Thank you for your explanation. The lifespan of the battery is significantly reduced depending on the care it receives, due to the high number of consumers and control units. Since I replaced the original battery after 5 1/2 years, this point became apparent to me in VCDS, and I was hoping to be able to reduce the battery load somewhat.
Viele Grüße
Andreas
