VCDS: Register HEX-NET and HEX-V2

After 15 uses, the Ross-Tech HEX-NET® and HEX-V2® diagnostic system must be registered to the customer. For instructions on how to perform the HEX-V2 registration or the HEX-NET registration, please see the following video:

You can find the latest version of the VCDS software in your diesel mechanic customer account under http://shop.dieselschrauber.org/en/account.php.

The VCDS software comes with the VCDS interface configuration program, which is used to register the HEX-NET or the HEX-V2. The HEX-NET / HEX-V2 does not need to be connected to a vehicle during registration, but the computer being used must be online.

Now, click the "[Configuration]" button to open the VCDS interface configuration program (VCIConfig.exe). Go to the "Registration" tab. If your HEX-NET / HEX-V2 is registered, you will see your information. If it is not registered, you will be presented with a registration form. Please review Ross-Tech's privacy policy on our website and check the box to indicate that you accept the terms. Fill in the required information and then click the "[Submit Registration Request]" button.

A pop-up message will inform you that the information has been successfully submitted, and you will receive an email with instructions to complete the registration process.

If you receive the email from Ross Tech, you will find your transaction ID. Copy this information and paste it into the "Transaction ID" field in the VCDS interface configuration utility. Then, click on "Complete Registration."

Back in the VCDS software, under the "[Settings]" screen, perform another "[Connection Test]". Click "OK" and then click the "Save" button to return to the first screen of the VCDS software. Click the "[About...]" button, and if you see your information displayed, this indicates that the HEX-NET / HEX-V2 is registered correctly.

Attention: Contrary to the information displayed in the program, it may take up to 24 hours for the email containing the registration code to arrive.

I registered my HEX-NET shortly after receiving it with Ross-Tech, but I haven't yet received an email from them for revalidation. Will that email still arrive, or was I too hasty in registering?
