Hi,
After experiencing problems with the fuel injection pump on my 2.5L TDI engine (MKB: AKE), and after replacing the fuel injection pump's control unit, the engine now runs again, but it lacks power and the injection timing cannot be adjusted correctly.
I am aware that not everything I did was necessarily 100% correct.
However, with 400,000 kilometers on the odometer, an expensive repair for this car isn't worthwhile, so I've been trying to get it back on the road with minimal effort.
I would like to ask for your help in determining which donor vehicle the engine control unit (ECU) is taking the "desired injection start" value from, as indicated in data block 4.
Measurement block 000 and 18 are okay. Measurement block 000 also displays values for the injection timing.
"However, I'm having problems with measurement block 4. No matter how I adjust the injection start on the injection pump, measurement block 4 always shows a value of 0.0° for the actual injection start."
I've tried three different nozzles with NHG (presumably a type of gas), but the result is the same. I measured the resistances and checked for short circuits on all three NHG units, and there were no issues found.
If you have any advice for me, I would be very grateful.
Best regards, Hinnerk.

If the engine control unit (ECU) hasn't been tampered with and the engine isn't running on only four cylinders, you should check the cable connecting the knock sensor (NHG) to the ECU.
Best regards, Rainer.
