Hello everyone,

I'm new here and I hope you can help me.

I have a Diamex DX45 and the airbag light is on in my Seat Cordoba.
The protocol (ISO9141-2) is recognized during the scan, and I can display current values such as engine speed, etc. However, it shows "DTC: 0", which means that apparently no errors are known. Otherwise, there should at least be a "1" here. Therefore, I cannot clear any error codes, nor can I do anything else besides displaying the current values.

Perhaps someone can give me a tip on this problem. I'm at a loss and have little experience.

Thank you in advance, best regards, Sebastian.

Hello Sebastian,
Actually, we are somewhat icon_wink.gif VAG-COM - oh wait, that's now called VCDS - dependent.
And actually, there's also no support for the competition.
I think, however, that we can consider Diamex as an exception.

There was a period in the airbag control unit (STU) field where these units could be permanently affected by diagnostic tools.
could damage it (if I recall correctly, late nineties). It's possible that your vehicle falls within this timeframe, and Diamex may have omitted the critical parts or disabled certain functions as a precaution.
Generally, safety-critical components have notches.
My suggestion would be to have the engine control unit (ECU) checked using a VAG diagnostic tool (e.g., at a workshop) or a...
Have the latest VCDS version read out.

Best regards,
Rudi

Hello Rudi,

Thank you for the answer icon_smile.gif.
The car is from 2003, so that possibility might already be ruled out. But perhaps accessing the safety-critical control units is indeed blocked in the Diamex system.

Okay, I'll take your advice and go to the workshop!

Greetings, Sebastian.

After doing a little research on Google, I believe this Diamex device is a dedicated OBD-II/EOBD scanner. If that's correct, it means you can only access systems and error codes related to emissions. It won't be able to access things like airbags or ABS, as the OBD standard doesn't cover those.
