I'm having a problem:
"Ross-Tech USB-Interface is not found"
USB Library: 03.02.07
Interface: Not found
This message is now Offline (without car).
The status message when connected is (almost) the same.
I haven't used the computer for months (due to illness) and haven't made any changes.
In December, everything went smoothly.
I have now updated to RKS 17.8.0.
No improvements!
HELP, what can I do?

Please perform a connection test at the OBD port for safety reasons. What operating system are you using? Has anything changed in the system? Have you installed any other security software/firewall? Is the OS patched?
Viele Grüße
Andreas

Alternatively, try using a different USB port. This should allow the detection process to restart.

Hi,

Check if wiggling the cable does anything. Your interface still has warranty.
Does the LED turn green when it's attached to the vehicle? How is the power supply for your diagnostic laptop in the car?

Best regards, Rainer

Hi,
Thank you for all the tips.
Here are the answers:

**Translation:**

{TEXT_TO_TRANSLATE}
That's all there is left.
@ Roger: I've tried all three USB ports, and it behaves the same way.
@ Dieselschrauber: Wiggling doesn't work. The LED is showing "blue". That was always the case. Tested power supply – either via fully charged battery or via 12V power supply --> no difference.
Could this be a USB driver issue? I don't understand how the drivers should change in a turned-off computer, though.
By the way, the vehicle is an Amarok, manufactured in 2016, with a power output of 132 kW.

This should still work with the HEX-CAN V1. I'm surprised that the LED is blue. However, I still have the old V1. There isn't any blue there.

Do you have the possibility to test the interface on another vehicle?
Viele Grüße
Andreas

Not a VAG vehicle.
Porsche or Daimler.
Boxster should be similar to the Touareg. I'm just testing.

Hello,

It is a question of whether your USB port generally recognizes external devices.
Please check under System Settings - Device Manager - Other Devices (USB).
If something (incorrect) has been detected, then go to the device - right-click - update drivers - the drivers are located in C:\Ross-tech\VCDS-DRV - update.

Then everything should start running again.

Greetings
Stefan

With both the Benz and Porsche, the same error occurred.
I believe that vehicle malfunctions can be ruled out.

Hello POR1,
In this directory, the USB driver does not appear to be present:
"The hardware was not installed because the required software was not found."

The LED is lit "blue". But it has always been like this.

It's 2003, and we've never sold HEX-USB+CAN modules with LEDs that can actually light up blue. icon_exclaim.gif

Please post a picture of your interface.

Hello, Diesel Mechanic,

It's a good thing we discussed the LED color icon_smile_thumb_up.gif.
It was the wrong cable icon_rolleyes.gif
That's what happens when you let others handle things while you're in the hospital.
I have several diagnostic systems. It seems that one of them has put the cable in the wrong bag. They all look the same (but only where "Kaufmann" is written is there actually a "Kaufmann" icon_redface.gif ).
Sorry again for the trouble I caused.
Currently, everything is working perfectly icon_biggrin.gif

Good evening,
I bought my HEX-USB+CAN in 2013 and used it until 2016. After a change in my career, the interface remained unused for a while. Now, I have installed the latest VCDS software and wanted to read data from my VW Lupo. Unfortunately, the interface is not being recognized, and I am receiving the same error message as member Nobu, as explained in the initial post.
The LED on the interface lights up green when connected to the vehicle.
The PC is running Windows 10 and the USB drivers are up to date. All 4 USB ports behave the same. With this PC, the connections were successful in 2016. However, I was still using Windows XP and older VCDS software at that time.
What am I doing wrong or what am I missing?
Thank you very much.

Hi,

Please provide an image of the cable and a Screenshot of what the Windows Device Manager shows, and a Screenshot of the "System" dialog from the Windows Settings.
