Some vehicle models are now only available with DSG (direct-shift gearbox) instead of a manual transmission.
How is the lifespan of dual-clutch transmissions (DSG) doing today?

- DSG Type DQ200
- Vehicle model Octavia Combi 1Z5 1.6 TDI
- Odometer reading: 151,000 km
- No chiptuning
- Clutches and DMF replaced at 108,000 km

The reason for the disassembly (repair) of the DSG was a noise - a small metal part was found that was causing the noise. The origin of the part could not be determined. The clutches were still okay, but were replaced because they were already removed.

Vehicle was newly purchased, manufactured in 1/2016
- DSG Type DQ200
- Polo 6C GTI
- Mileage: 23,000 km
- Chiptuning is allowed (further enhanced clutch installed and torque increased to 460 Nm, no OEM turbocharger installed.)
- no damage

It should also be noted that the shifting behavior with OEM software was a disaster, with wild and erratic shifting and clunking noises... all these issues have been resolved since the optimization.

- Possible damage at ... (Mileage) According to VW history, the mechatronic and the entire DSG gearbox were replaced by the previous owner in 2008 at approximately 85,000 km. Taken over in 2009 with 105,000 km. In the last three to four years, approximately once a year, the gearbox would remain in first gear when starting and would not shift to second gear. Restarting the vehicle resolves the issue. Can I live with it?

Switching operations (cold or warm) without any noticeable issues
First oil change at 112,000 km, then at 180,000 km, both with {PRODUCT_NAME}
ATF oil change machine including cleaner/lube (approx. 13 liters). The last batch of used oil was quite a dark, brownish liquid.
No signs of coolant in the oil.

- Possible damage at ... (mileage) - no damage - Oil change has just been performed. Although I didn't have any problems with the gear shifting, the oil change is noticeably better. Gear changes are now faster and smoother. I strongly advise everyone to get their oil change sooner rather than later.

Audi A3 V6, Year: 2005
183 tkm

The vehicle required a 3rd DSG oil change at 183tkm. While loosening the overflow pipe to drain the oil, it made a brief clicking sound, and the overflow pipe broke above. After a long search with the endoscope, I discovered that the parking lock wheel (which is located on the differential) had moved and had worn away the overflow pipe during operation. A new overflow pipe could no longer be installed because the parking lock wheel was located directly above the drain screw.
So far, the transmission has been functioning perfectly, and the parking lock has also been working without any issues.

Gear oil change at 59750km, gear flush planned at 119500km, not just a simple change.

Absolutely no issues until sale with 200,000 km.
Currently, a Golf 7 GTD (DQ250) has been remapped, and despite having 90,000 km on the odometer, there are no issues.
