Audi 80 Avant 1Z: Dynamic Injection Timing Type?

Good evening.

leider weiß ich nicht, ob der von mir ausgewählte Typ im TDI-Graph für meinen Audi 80 Avant mit 1Z-Motor der Richtige ist. Bjis 02/1995.

The fuel injection pump has the number D31.

My problem is that there are 3 different types of the 1.9 TDI 1Z engine, and I'm not sure about the last two types.

The type I selected and configured shows "<1994> + AFD". If I enter this graph, the injection timing will be too late. This is probably not a problem for professionals like you, but I only work on things when I have to.

It's been a few years since I worked on a 1Z Audi (see my profile), but I'll still try to answer. With the 1995 model, you have the last version of the Audi 80 1Z, which included changes made during 1994, such as the turbocharger, 203 Nm of torque, a mass airflow sensor, and the MSA15 engine control unit. Mine was an MSA12, but the injection timing should be the same. The curve in the second image matches the one in my documentation (RLF). I also remember that the second curve applies to models from 1994 onwards.
The black and white version D09 was an intermediate step.

Great, thank you very much. I'll try that out. That's why it was running so slowly.

By the way, I cleaned the MSW. The reason was actually that the seal was leaking.

Currently, the MSW (likely referring to a machine setting) is set to 4.6 - 4.8 mg/hub. I will fine-tune it further towards 3/4 once I have corrected the injection start.

I have now correctly adjusted the injection timing, and I couldn't resist tweaking the quantity control.

Currently, the injection volume is 4.0-4.2 mg per dose.

The Avant is now running perfectly. No more jerking, and the acceleration is great. I'm looking forward to seeing what the fuel consumption will be.
