Polo 9N3: Oil pressure light flickers intermittently

Hello everyone,

My Polo 9N3 (mileage 615,000 km) is acting up again:
Overall, the oil pressure light illuminated and beeped three times during my return trip.

I've experienced this before - see /viewtopic.php?t=29452.

This time, however, I didn't have to complain about any performance loss.
I naturally checked the oil level - it was correct.
So far, no symptoms. I will not be driving anymore for now, but I am actually driving more carefully after the events.

That might not have been the smartest decision, but at that moment, I just wanted to go home.

In the error memory, such events are not stored, are they?! In the engine control unit, I at least don't see any error messages.

How would you proceed now? My hope is that it might be a problem with the oil pressure switch.

Just checked the oil pressure, photos and video attached.
Looks good to me, what do you think?

What I noticed: The engine sound seems to indicate that a piston ring has again worn out due to the camshaft. But this leads more to an error message on the mass flow meter, rather than the oil pressure sensor?

I actually don't feel like watching movies. You can simply post the values for temperature, RPM, and oil pressure here (reference values as per RLF).

Hi Herbert,

What does RLF mean?
Values as follows:
Oil Temperature: Approximately 65°C.
Oil pressure at idle speed: approximately 2 bar.
Oil pressure at approximately 2,500 RPM: approximately 4.5 to 5 bar.

Short feedback from me:

Since replacing the oil pressure switch, I have been able to drive 7,000 km without the oil pressure light coming on again.

It probably was due to the switch.
