VW Golf 3 1.9 TDI: Can I use any LLK?

Hello, I have a Golf 3 1.9td, manufactured in 1992, with 55kW. I've read that you can achieve over 100 horsepower with an intercooler. Can I use any intercooler, or which one should I use? And what should I be aware of during the installation?
