A 'powerbox' for the 1Z model is being auctioned off on eBay for 84 EUR.
Here is the link (I hope this is allowed in the forum) http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2457930578&category=40187.
I've read several times now that power boxes only work like the '10-cent tuning' method.
Can someone perhaps tell me if this power box is any good?
Then I found something else:
A front spoiler lip from a VR6/GTI model, designed to be slightly wider than the standard one.
What is the price of this original part from VW? It is being auctioned off there for 40 EUR.
Thank you in advance for your help.

We've discussed the issues with various power boxes and eBay countless times. Just last week, or maybe the week before, there was a post here about a tuning box for a PD engine that only contained an 180-ohm resistor. I don't want to offend anyone, but the auctioneer's choice of words suggests a lack of expertise.
Conclusion: Use the search function and then decide for yourself!

Should I unscrew it and take a look inside?

Then I'll probably just let it go.
How much would I need to invest to get a reasonable return?
I'm not exactly rolling in money.
What about the spoiler?

I meant 'intelligently.' I can't really find anything appealing about the 10-cent method. Especially because you can only activate it after the engine has started, otherwise the control unit detects the error. (Or have I misunderstood something?)

With a little skill, you can automate this process as well! I think this has also been discussed extensively here.
