Hello everyone!

I have two questions I'd like to ask.

1) Have you all entered your performance improvements, or just indicated "up to a certain extent"?

2) What happens to the insurance costs if the engine is "chipped" (re-mapped) to increase its power, but it still maintains its emissions class? This only applies to officially registered performance upgrades.

Perhaps one of you can give me specific information: Does having a G4 ALH engine and a chip installed result in higher insurance costs?

Best regards, Jan.

What justification is there for the increase in the insurance premium?

In Germany, insurance is based on vehicle classes.

Registered, and my insurance rate remained the same.

Regards,

Manuel.

"Because the car will then have more power! That's why I asked my question. I already understand that they charge based on vehicle classes, but there's nowhere to find information about whether there's a "horsepower limit"."

Thank you for your statement.

Hello,

It's best if you ask your insurance company. In my case, the liability insurance remained the same, but they wanted to increase the comprehensive insurance because the car is now worth more. icon_rolleyes.gif

Best regards, Rainer.

hello rainer!

I already spoke with my insurance representative, and he was completely overwhelmed by this question (I have no idea why), but he said he would look into it further.
I'm waiting for a call back on Monday.

Thank you for your reply.

Best regards, Jan.

Hi!

I had my AJM upgraded via PBOX, the inspection at Dekra went smoothly, and I then reported it to my insurance company. Now I have to pay 22.75 euros more for my liability insurance.

That's all there is to it.

It's the same for me.
However, I waived the replacement of the tuning value in the event of a total loss -> no increase.

For me, it was a tough battle with the insurance company. They have their own guidelines and wanted to increase the premium because of the increased performance and higher maximum speed.
96KW - 205 KM/H Series.
117 kW - 218 km/h, now officially registered.
Bitte gib mir den Text, den du übersetzt haben möchtest.
I was only able to keep my contribution rate by threatening to cancel the remaining 7 insurance policies.
..but generally speaking, one cannot say that with insurance, the premium does not increase with an increase in benefits icon_exclaim.gif.
Regards,
Monchi.

My temptation doesn't care. If I register, nothing will change.
