All doorknobs are unlocked - lock won't open

I have read all the threads about driver's and passenger doors that are no longer opening. "None of them quite fit my problem."
Currently, with moderate frost (4-door car, central locking with remote control), this is what I'm experiencing:

(1) All the door handles move smoothly upwards (!).

(2) Driver's door cannot be opened: The exterior door handle moves outward without resistance, all the way to its stop (as if the door were locked).

(3) (Entering the car through the passenger door): Same attempt using the interior door handle: same result.

(4) Locking and unlocking with a remote or key does not make a difference.

(5) After a few minutes, everything is back to normal.

The phenomenon sometimes occurs in exactly the same way with the front passenger door as well.

If I haven't misread, similar door problems to those previously described have occurred.
Do not turn on the door knob when it is already in the "on" position.

That must be really frustrating, having your door lock frozen. G3 is likely the same lock as the one on the 35i Passat, and I had the same problem with it just before Christmas.
The solution is to remove the lock mechanism – it's quite simple and doesn't even require removing the door panel. verschandeln it thoroughly, then re-grease and oil it. Then it should work properly again.

I experienced the same problem with my G3 at the beginning of December.

I simply sprayed a generous amount of WD-40 into the locking mechanism, and I haven't had any problems since.

"I know that problem, I had it last winter too. I initially thought it might be frozen seals, but it wasn't. The window frames could be lifted. Then I removed the handles – there's a Torx screw in the groove – and I flooded the lock mechanism with Innotech Power Grease." Since then, it's been quiet.
