Hello,
Since my Golf is making creaking noises in the rear axle area, and spraying the stabilizer bushings didn't help (the car has only 35,000 km), I'd like to know if it's possible to spray or grease the strut mounts, or if they can be treated with talcum powder.
Does that change the driving characteristics?
It can only be the strut mounts now; otherwise, everything has been sprayed, and it's still squeaking.
Does anyone else have a tip?

hey you, the singing and writing one...
What kind of golf is it? Is it a 3-series or a 4-series? Does it have the multi-link front suspension or not? So many questions!
Please provide the text you would like me to translate from German to English.

Golf 4!!! What else could it be...?
With the 3-series, nothing had creaked or groaned before, so it must have been a 4-series .

hmmmmm....
I'm not entirely familiar with the  axle. Is it the same as the one used in the Passat from 2000 onwards, or in the A4 from '96 (4-link suspension, 'space-link axle')? If so, then there's a very high probability that it's the pressed-in rubber bushings in the } axle arms. I think there's a good chance that this would be covered under warranty! }
If it's the same as with the 3-series, then I would replace the axial roller bearings. Adding more lubricant might only last half a year, and then the problem will likely reappear at increasingly shorter intervals.

No, that's not a four-wheel steering system!!!
'With the 4-series, there are usually problems with the rubber bushings, but I've lubricated everything to prevent that!'
I was mainly concerned with the dome support itself, specifically the rubber part, as it's clearly a rubber component that has been damaged.

Sorry, Joergs, but the fourth-generation Golf doesn't have a space-frame chassis.
He has standard McPherson struts, which are connected to the lower control arms along with the wheel hub housing. The control arms are further decoupled from the body via an auxiliary frame. In addition, there is an anti-roll bar installed, which reduces body roll.
My A3 has the exact same front axle construction .
Unfortunately, it also makes the same noises, which are particularly noticeable in warm and dry weather.
For me, the buildup of deposits in the stabilizer caused about 1 year of peace. Now it's starting again .
I will soon be carrying out a complete suspension overhaul, during which I will primarily be replacing all the rubber-to-metal bushings (front and rear control arm bushings), the strut mounts, and the rubber bushings in the stabilizer bars, including the mounting clips.
Once upon a time, there was a constructive modification made to the retaining clips and rubber bushing inserts.
Maybe the new ones are better .
Honestly, I can't imagine the strut mounts squeaking. If they're worn, it's more likely to cause clunking noises.

@ donalexo Wenn ich die Stabigummi wechseln möchte, muß ich doch die Koppelstange abschrauben! RImportant?
How should I proceed? Is it best to do it on a pit, or should I lift it from the front? When lifting it, the stabilizer bar is under tension, and if I then loosen the tie rod, it will definitely pop out with a loud noise, right???
'With my Mk3 Golf, I did all the work on the suspension myself, and I'm confident I can do the same with the Mk4. I just need some information so I don't mess anything up!'
Thank you in advance...

Okay, I said I'm not familiar with those parts! So, it's the same construction as in the Passat 35i. And that's exactly the problem I had before, and I spent a lot of time trying to figure it out. It wasn't the tie rod bearings. I kept searching and eventually found that the problem was with the axial roller bearings, which were causing these knocking noises because the outer race of the bearings was twisting within the rubber block.
Recently, there was also a thread here where someone mentioned a 'too long' [item - likely referring to a specific object or part]. Try using the search function!
