Hi,
"I paid around 250 euros two years ago for two front wheel bearings on an A6, if that's helpful. However, that was at an independent garage. I would recommend replacing both wheel bearings if one is worn out, because the other one usually won't last much longer."
Just get a counteroffer from a less-than-"friendly" workshop.
Best regards from Berlin.
Olli.

'I replaced the wheel bearings myself on my old Passat 35i facelift. It took about 2-3 hours for both sides, but I had to take it to a local mechanic to have the bearings pressed in and out (one bearing was so tight that the press had a hard time). I paid a small fee for their help, and the bearings were from an auto parts store with a 150,000 km warranty. I don't remember exactly how much the bearings cost, but it wasn't much.'
