Hi,
I acquired a used instrument cluster (new Galaxy, year 2000). My old one is 7M5 920 820 K, and the new one is 7M7 920 840 L. All the displays are working, except for the central, large display (MFA/FIS). The lower (larger) part of that display is slightly illuminated as soon as I plug in the left connector into the instrument cluster, and it remains lit even with the ignition off. However, nothing is actually displayed. I've transferred the codes from my old cluster and also performed an output test, but there's no display in that section. Here's the translation:
'However, the following error code is stored in the CAN gateway's memory:'
Control Module Part Number: 6N0 909 901
Component and/or Version: Gateway K<->CAN 0001
Software Coding: 00006
Workshop Code: WSC 05406
1 Fault Found:
00778 - Steering Angle Sensor (G85)
49-00 - No Communications.
Is that related?
Does anyone have any other suggestions? (Is there anything else I need to adjust or repair, or are there any individual components that can be replaced?)
Sure, I'd be happy to help! Please provide the text you would like me to translate from German to English.
Best regards, Sirecki.

That might already be the source of the error. Do you know for 100% that this thing was working on the previous model? B.Eng (FH) u. KFZ Meister

I'm not sure if the speedometer was working before, but I've contacted the seller again and am waiting for a response.
I don't have ESP, could the error message be related to that, is that normal? It sounds like it's related to steering angle.

It is highly likely that the AI is defective, because at the very least, some output should appear on the display during the output test.

It seems there's a defect. I will exchange the AI.
Best regards, Sirecki.
