Hi everyone,

My first post, and already a problem icon_confused.gif.
I had the GRA (presumably a graphics card) upgraded (by a local workshop), but unfortunately, I and the guys can't get it working.

My car: Seat Alhambra ASZ, 1.9L TDI, 96kW/130PS.
T/N: 038 906 019 BH

According to measurement block 022.
I have read the following values.
9 = GRA active (on).

000000 - OFF
000011 - ON
000111 - SET (but resets to 000110 during operation ???)
001011 - RES (Reset)
000001 - OFF (pressed) - (How do you access this function?)
100110 - Clutch depressed.
010110 - Brake pedal pressed.

When I press the SET button, the GRA indicator light on the tachometer illuminates for the duration that I hold the button down.

How can I measure the potentially missing speed signal using VAG.COM, and how can I activate it? Could there perhaps be a loose connection somewhere?
What else could it be due to?

Thank you in advance.

Jobelix.

Hi Jobelix,

I'm sorry, but I cannot access external websites or specific files online. Therefore, I am unable to translate the text from the provided URL.

You'll find everything there for measuring and reading data from a malfunctioning GRA (presumably a sensor or device).

.... then you'll be able to do the tango icon_wink.gif.

Hi Bertil,

You here and not in Hollywood? icon_cool.gif
First of all, thank you for the tip, but I was already familiar with that thread - although I couldn't draw any conclusions from it. icon_redface.gif

According to VAG.COM, the switch functions appear to be okay. icon_confused.gif
I don't have much experience with this software, so I would appreciate any tips that could help me identify the source of the error.

Best regards,
Jobelix

Hi,

Okay, something's not right. The light in the instrument cluster should always be on when the GRA switch is in the "ON" position. Pressing the SET button shouldn't have any effect on the display. I can't really explain the behavior you're seeing in your car.

Hi,

To me, it sounds like there might be some crossed wires.

Best regards,

or a faulty lever and miswired cables - it's best to start from scratch and carefully re-measure everything, and rebuild it completely from the ground up.

I had the same problem. I had it installed, but it didn't work. The GRA display showed an error when I pressed the SET button. I checked it myself again and found that the blue cable was connected incorrectly. I changed it, and now there are no more problems.

For some EDC (68-pin) devices, an additional connection of T68/58 to +12V is required to activate the GRA (Grounding Relay). This is a safety feature. Unfortunately, this information is not always included in the circuit diagrams.

Best regards, Gunnar.

I managed to do it.

Two cables were swapped.
It seems the workshop must have had a really bad day when they were extending that cable.
pin 14 instead of pin 44, pin 44 instead of pin 45.

Thank you everyone.

Best regards,
Jobelix
