Hello,

I have 2 problems that I really want to tackle in the next few days, and I have the time to do so.

Okay:

1. Problem with headlight range adjustment.
Nothing is happening anymore, neither on the left nor on the right.
Which fuse is responsible for this, and where is it located?
How should I proceed? It's highly unlikely that both the left and right sides would fail at the same time!
Troubleshooting?

2. Problem with the 'lights-on' reminder, which is the beeper/buzzer that sounds when the lights are on and the driver's door is opened.

Well, to explain that, I need to provide some more background.
Okay, so first, the aforementioned buzzer stopped working (or wasn't working correctly, about 3 months after I had a Waeco 350 installed). Shortly after that, the interior light stopped turning off when the (driver's) door was closed (mainly in the winter). Then, the light stopped turning on when the door was opened. And now, the red warning light on the dashboard also no longer illuminates when a door is open.

I've already tested the door contact switch, and it's still working.
What else could it be due to?
'Has anyone else experienced this problem, and if so, what was the solution?'
Troubleshooting?

Could there be a connection between problem 1 and problem 2?

Sure, no problem! Here's the translation:

'Thank you in advance!'

Hello.

What kind of car do you have?
If it's a model 3, here's my suggestion, as I had the same problem:
The connector on the potentiometer came loose because the cable connection was quite short.
You need to pull that thing out from the dashboard and take a look. There's a multi-pin (red) connector that should be attached to it. First, remove the cover on the far left, then the light switch, and then press the retaining clip in the opening.
I had looked at the circuit diagram beforehand. There aren't many potential sources of error.
The electric motors are likely defective (it's unlikely that both would fail at the same time). The entire system is probably related to the fuses for the low beam headlights (so that the adjustment only works when the low beams are turned on).
It might be similar with the Golf 4.

Good luck!
