Hello everyone,
My sunroof makes a 'cracking' sound when it's open or being operated. I've been troubleshooting and haven't found any loose parts, but when I press on the side (lengthwise) of the SD frame, I hear a cracking sound (it sounds like metal being bent in and then popping back out).
Okay, I wanted to ask if anyone has ever encountered this problem: I don't want to take apart the roof lining etc. only to find that the issue is somewhere else entirely.
Best regards, Alex.

Hello,
I once had the same problem.
On the sliding roof frame, there are two metal levers on the right and left sides, each with a small rubber ring pointing towards the rear. If this part is worn out or missing, the lever mechanism will no longer function properly, and you will hear a clicking sound. Tschüss

Hello Alex,
If the small silver lever broke on yours, I might have an instruction manual somewhere on my computer with some tips for disassembling it. If you'd like, I can take a look and see if I can find it. The left part of mine was broken once. It's a bit of a hassle, but it's doable.
Regards,
Kusi.

'I experienced the same issue. It was making a cracking sound because the metal part was being pushed down too far. Every time I moved the sunroof, it would crack.' I just pulled a cable tie tight and clipped it (probably in the spot where the rubber band is usually supposed to be, but there wasn't one there for me) and it's been holding securely and quietly ever since.
