Hello,
My colleague is having a problem with his AFN-TDI. Yesterday, the engine sound changed, and immediately the power was gone on the highway. He couldn't go above 140 km/h. We stopped at a rest stop, but we couldn't figure out what the problem was.
'We then unplugged the mass airflow sensor (MAF), and now the engine is making a really rough, diesel-like noise. The normal engine sound is gone. There's also no acceleration anymore! However, the car is still reaching a maximum speed of 170 km/h.'

We read in a technical article that it's possible to 'rejuvenate' older mass airflow sensors. However, you would only want to read this article if you're interested in that topic.

[EDIT Rainer]http://www.dieselschrauber.de/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4258 ->/viewtopic.php?t=4258 [/EDIT Rainer]

'We're going to investigate this further. We want to determine if the issue is solely related to the LMM (Large Language Model), or if something else might be the cause.'
Is this post moved, or does it no longer exist?

OH, great, THANK YOU SO MUCH!

What was the reason why the website wasn't working before?

We tried it, and we're convinced: it's so simple, and the car is running again!

Are we allowed to leave it like this? Does the car's ABE (approval) expire because of the resistance?

or, just buy a new one and put it in? icon_lol.gif

Since the modification/repair might affect emissions, I'm leaning towards "ABE invalid" (ABE being a German approval document). Whether anyone will notice is another question, as is often the case...

If you want to behave properly -> yes.

Hello Ulf,
Okay, so we don't want anything illegal on the vehicle, and if we ever want to make any modifications, we'll only do it with the approval of the TÜV (German technical inspection authority). The people at the TÜV are great; you can talk to them about anything!

Have you had any experience with the new Pierburg mass airflow sensor (MAF sensor) 7.22684.08.0 for VW engines and similar applications?

Under the technical article: https://community.dieselschrauber.org/en/viewtopic.php?t=3347, is the pin configuration also described for the new Bosch (now also Pierburg) and the old Pierburg (7.18221.51.0)?

Has anyone already exchanged their old LMM (7.18221.51.0) for a new one (vw-7.22684.08.0 or dc 7.22684.07.0), and what experiences have you had?

Is the renovation recommended?

What are the part numbers for the old Pierburg 7.18221.51.0, the new Pierburg 7.22684.08.0, and the new Bosch (possibly also from Pierburg) DC mass airflow sensors?

Purpose: Engine conversion, possibly for performance enhancement.

We can also use everything to access other websites, etc.? icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif
